Not going to be at the State Championship at Groves High School this weekend? No Problem! Joey Sutherlin is a East Kentwood Water Polo Parent and has been streaming & broadcasting sporting events in his free time for 33 years. This year has been an extremely exciting season for Joey as his son, Chase - who often is broadcasting along side his dad for other sports and girls water polo season - is on the EK State team.

Joey does all East Kentwood sports, as well as Aquinas College Indoor Track & Field, Davenport Swimming & Diving, and was a GRCC Football broadcaster before it was disbanded. He has also filled in for the Whitecaps and Travers City Pittspitters on occasion and has done 8 NJCAA Baseball championships, 3 Basket ball, 4 Volleyball, and 11 bowl football games!

Joey broadcasts in his free time out of love of the game. He wants to make sure all the kids, family, and friends who can't be there get the chance to see how amazing their kid is and for some that played, they are able look back and reflect on monumental events like championships in years to come.

He created his page "Biscuit in the Basket Broadcasting" from one of his well known catchphrases. It just came to him one day to describe getting the ball in the goal and it is now well known around the Water Polo community.

Joey says "The best part of streaming is the people I get to meet. I absolutely love both our community in general and Water Polo. But I am so humbled by the number of players, coaches, and parents who come up to me or email me all the time and make me feel special when in fact, I am the lucky one. I get to talk about sports and hopefully help people learn about them and get better."

Biscuit in the Basket Broadcasting is not associated with the MWPA but we thank Joey for his time in connecting people across the state, country, and world with our Michigan Water Polo organization.
