Kait's love for water polo began at the age of 8 when the then UM Club coach visited her swim team banquet at Ypsilanti Otters (shoutout to Scott & Candice Russell!)—a moment that would shape her athletic journey for years to come. She proudly competed in her first of many Junior Olympics in 1997 (including one hosted in Ann Arbor, MI) and went on to represent Marist College at the Division I level after graduating from Dexter High School in 2006.

Since 2012, Kait has been passionate about giving back to the Dexter community that began with coaching volleyball before proudly taking on Girls Varsity and JV Water Polo team in 2015 and Boys Varsity and JV Water Polo in Spring of 2022.

When not working as an Administrative Manager in the University of Michigan's Emergency Department, Kait treasures time spent with her wife Jess Hinderer and their dogs Blair and Rascal. Kait finds joy in golfing and any opportunity to be near a lake! She's honored to be stepping in as interim MWPA secretary for the second time, continuing her commitment to the sport that means so much to her.
