The 2023 Season is right around the corner, and the preseason Top Ten rankings as voted upon by the Michigan Water Polo Association (MWPA) coaches are here below.

The five-time defending state champion Hudsonville Eagles are atop the poll, in tight competition for the top spot with west rival Rockford, after winning the first state championship ever played at Michigan's Canham Natatorium last Spring.
Overall, the West region leads the poll with 3,696 poll points and seven entrants in the preseason rankings, with the East clocking in with three contenders and 835 poll points.
By district, District 1 has 2,110 poll points to go with four contenders (Hudsonville, Jenison, Grandville, Zeeland) in the rankings. The West region's District 2 has 1,586 poll points with three (Rockford, East Kentwood, East Grand Rapids), from their district. District 4 has all of the East Region's poll points with 835 amongst three (Skyline, Pioneer, Huron) schools.
Understanding the Poll: The poll, open to all MWPA Head Coaches, is ranked via a point-percentage scoring model. The points column is percentage of points scored by voters against the maximum total, which is based on number of voters. The period that would signify percentage has been dropped off the beginning of each number.
Unanimous first place ranking nets a score of 1,000 points.
Coaches vote weekly during the season. Polls will be updated Mondays during the season Inquiries on the poll can be directed to the chat feature on the MWPA website. Answering times may vary.
