
The Michigan Water Polo Association has announced details for the annual MWPA Five on Five Fundraiser Tournament, this year to be played on August 21 and 22 at East Kentwood High School.

Schedules
August 21: High School teams from 9:00 am until two champion teams are crowned, (Estimated, 6:00 pm). 3 games per each team, championship format.
August 22: Adult Teams from 9:00 am until two champion teams are crowned, (Estimated, 6:00 pm). 3 games per each team, championship format.
Total Teams
There will be four groups of six teams: Girls High School, Boys High School, Adult Women and Adult Men.
Team Entry Fee
High School Teams: $210
Adult Teams: $250
Payment Methods
Checks payable to the Michigan Water Polo Association or MWPA. Venmo (@MichWPA), which you can find as a business account on Venmo, or cash accepted. Payment required prior to playing.
Game Format
Games will be played under NFHS rules and MWPA Policies with some notable differences
-Five five-minute periods.
-Two 30-second timeouts.
-Only five players in the water at any given time.
-Maximum seven players per team.
-Players can substitute at any time, but the goalie can only be in goal once, for no more than one period. Goalies can sub only at goal scored stoppages. No goalie caps will be worn. All players will wear field caps and maintain that number throughout the tournament.
-Two pools with two officials each.
-45 minute game schedules.
-1 minute quarter breaks.
-No penalty shots, all exclusions.
-No team hopping.
Officials Clinic
-Two 45 minute sessions, WP 101, WP 201. Officiating basics geared towards new officials and coaches (protocol, hand signals, scoresheet, etc).
-$10 for officials clinic sessions.
Help Wanted
Volunteers needed in helping on tables, setup, breakdown and officiating.
