The Michigan Water Polo Association (MWPA) has officially announced that this season's Girls State Championship weekend will be hosted at the University of Michigan's Canham Natatorium on June 3-4 in Ann Arbor.

The Michigan Water Polo Association would like to thank the University of Michigan for partnering with us to host our girl's state championship tournament, and most importantly, to those that have already contributed to the Grow the Game Fund. This wouldn't be possible without them. Hosting our tournament at Michigan gives our athletes the elite experience they deserve playing our sport, and puts the experience on par with what other sports have available to them at their championship weekends.

Previously, the tournament was to be dual hosted at Saline and Ann Arbor Skyline High Schools.

"Our goal is to host a future boys tournament at Canham Natatorium. Canham is unavailable for the boys 2022 championships this Spring due to scheduling conflicts, but we are actively eyeing future dates as we continue to fundraise for the future of our sport. It is important to the us that we continue to actively seek ways to improve the student-athlete experience. Our sport isn't just the hardest to play, it also has the capacity to be the most fun to watch. It deserves a big stage to play on."- The MWPA Board

The Michigan Water Polo Association will broadcast all boys and girls state tournament games on the MWPA Network, which is available to watch free online. The broadcast teams will be announced before the tournament.

Michigan will also host the NCAA Women's Championships, May 4-8 next week, marking a great commitment to water polo championships this spring at Canham.
