HOW DOES THE MWPA POSTSEASON WORK?

The District Round: Team's winning their district quarterfinal game earns them an automatic bid to the Regional Tournament. The remainder of the District tournament is played out with the quarterfinal winners and seeded 1-4. Team's with a quarterfinal bye (#1 seed in seven-team districts, #1 and #2 seed in six-team districts) are automatically advanced to the Regional Tournament.

Your District Tournament finish determines who you will play in the opposite district in your region for the Regional Quarterfinals. The District Champion plays the opposite district's fourth place team. The runner up plays the opposite district's 3rd seed.

The State Tournament: The state tournament is a bracket single elimination - with a caveat. The caveat being all eight teams that make the state tournament play three games (regardless of win-loss record) and each team finishes with a placement in the top eight.

The State Quarterfinals are played on day one of the tournament, with the Semi-Finals, as well as the Consolation Semi's are played on day two of the state tournament. The placement games (3rd place, 5th place, and 7th place) are also played on day two, with the state championship game set for last of the day.
